It can\nreverse code items that need to be reversed before scoring and\npro-rate scores for missing item data. Currently, three\ndifferent types of scores can be output: summed item scores,\nmean item scores, and scores scaled to range from 0 to 100. The\n'PROscorerTools' functions can be used to write new functions\nthat score more complex measures. In fact, 'PROscorerTools'\nfunctions are the building blocks of the scoring functions in\nthe 'PROscorer' package (which is a repository of functions\nthat score specific commonly-used instruments). Users are\nencouraged to use 'PROscorerTools' to write scoring functions\nfor their favorite PRO-like instruments, and to submit these\nfunctions for inclusion in 'PROscorer' (a tutorial vignette\nwill be added soon). The long-term vision for the\n'PROscorerTools' and 'PROscorer' packages is to provide an\neasy-to-use system to facilitate the incorporation of PRO\nmeasures into research studies in a scientifically rigorous and\nreproducible manner.
